The Library
The Library keeps your work. The Studio doesn’t remember anything between launches, so anything you want to keep belongs here. It holds four kinds of item:
- a kit when you only want the 16 sounds,
- a voice when you want one sound,
- a pattern when you only want the beat,
- a backup when you want the whole PO-32: all its sounds, patterns and timing in one item.
Everything is stored on your computer or phone.
Save Your Work
Section titled “Save Your Work”- From the Studio: use Save to library and choose the voice, the kit, the current pattern or a backup.
- From the Library: under Save current, type a name if you like, then choose Save kit, Save voice, Save pattern or Save backup.
Add From a File
Section titled “Add From a File”Add PO-32 WAV to library decodes a transfer or backup recording straight into the Library, without touching the Studio. If a backup recording is missing some sounds, the Library fills them with defaults. To load a recording into the Studio instead, use Backup and Restore.
Find Things
Section titled “Find Things”- Search by name or tag.
- Choose All, Kits, Voices, Patterns or Backups.
- Pick one or more Tags to show items with all of them.
- Switch on Favourites to show only the items you’ve starred.
- Sort by Name or Saved (newest first to start with). The Library remembers your choice.
Audition, Load and Send
Section titled “Audition, Load and Send”- Audition plays a voice, or runs through all 16 sounds of a kit or backup. Patterns can’t be auditioned here.
- Load in Studio opens the item in the Studio. A backup replaces the kit, all patterns, the chain, tempo and swing. A kit replaces the 16 sounds. A voice goes into the voice you’ve picked in the Studio. A pattern goes into the current pattern number. You can undo any of these in the Studio.
Each item’s menu also has:
- Rename and Edit tags.
- Duplicate, which makes a copy with “copy” on the end of the name.
- Play transfer to PO-32, which sends the kit, voice or backup to the device. Put the PO-32 in receive mode first (acc + sound). A voice sent this way replaces sound 1. Select Stop transfer to stop it.
- Export transfer WAV, which saves that transfer as a WAV (on desktop, to your Downloads folder).
- Delete. There’s no confirmation and no undo, so be sure.
Patterns are sent from Transfer & Import: Sending to the PO-32.
