Which Pocket Operators Does It Support?
Section titled “Which Pocket Operators Does It Support?”Today PO-PatchStudio supports the PO-32 Tonic. Also sends drum sounds to the PO-35 Speak’s built-in Tonic channel.
Fuller support for the PO-33 K.O! and PO-35 Speak (their samples, speech sounds and backups) is on the roadmap. Their data transfer format isn’t solved yet, so the likely route is recording them over line-in. There is no promised date. If and when that lands, it will be described honestly here. Nothing above is a commitment to a timeline.
Is It Really Free?
Section titled “Is It Really Free?”Yes. There is no licence, trial, paywall or in-app purchase. PO-PatchStudio builds on the community’s open-source reverse-engineering work and exists to give that work a friendly interface.
Which Platforms Can I Run It On?
Section titled “Which Platforms Can I Run It On?”macOS, Windows and Linux as a desktop app, iPhone and iPad from the App Store and Android as a sideloadable APK, with Google Play coming soon. See Download and Install for the builds and system requirements.
Where Does My Work Go?
Section titled “Where Does My Work Go?”The Studio doesn’t keep your work when you close the app, so save anything you want to keep to the Library. The Library lives on your computer or phone. On desktop, WAVs, bounces and Microtonic exports save to your Downloads folder.
Does It Sound Exactly Like My PO-32?
Section titled “Does It Sound Exactly Like My PO-32?”Close, but not identical. The app plays sounds with the open-source libpo32 synth so you can hear your work as you edit. Pattern playback in the app also plays each voice halfway between A and B, without per-step morph. Anything you send plays through the PO-32’s own engine, so it sounds right on the hardware.
My Transfer to the PO-32 Didn’t Take. What Should I Check?
Section titled “My Transfer to the PO-32 Didn’t Take. What Should I Check?”- Put the PO-32 in receive mode (acc + sound) before you play the transfer.
- Stop any pattern playing in the Studio first.
- Play the transfer loud and clean, close to the PO-32’s microphone.
- Turn off effects, EQ and audio “enhancements” on your output.

A Backup Recording Came Back Incomplete
Section titled “A Backup Recording Came Back Incomplete”PO-PatchStudio recovers what it can and tells you what came back. Record the dump again to fill the gaps: Load in Studio keeps your current values for anything missing, so two recordings combine. See Backup and Restore.
Does It Need My Microphone?
Section titled “Does It Need My Microphone?”Only to record backups from the PO-32. Designing sounds and sending them to the device work without it.
Can I Use My Microtonic Sounds?
Section titled “Can I Use My Microtonic Sounds?”Yes. PO-PatchStudio reads Sonic Charge Microtonic .mtdrum and .mtpreset files, in all three
format generations, and can export a voice or kit back out. These are your own files; the app doesn’t
include or share any Sonic Charge content. See
