SquareWave Studio is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more usable for everyone.

Measures to support accessibility

SquareWave Studio takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:

• Accessibility is part of our internal development guidelines
• We maintain minimum colour contrast ratios of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text
• All interactive elements are keyboard accessible with visible focus indicators
• We use semantic HTML and proper ARIA labels throughout
• Touch targets meet minimum size requirements (24×24px)
• Every page template is checked automatically against WCAG 2.2 Level AA, in both the light and dark colour schemes, before each change to the website goes live
• Menus, forms and the checkout are checked by keyboard when they change
• Images include appropriate alternative text

Accessibility features

• Clear heading hierarchy and document structure
• Keyboard navigation support for all interactive elements
• Light and dark colour schemes that follow your device's setting, with WCAG AA text contrast in both
• Reduced motion when your device asks for it
• Responsive design that works across devices and screen sizes
• Properly labelled forms and controls
• No content that plays automatically

Known limitations

We are aware of the following limitations and are working to address them:

• Embedded YouTube videos use YouTube's own player, which we can't change and which may not be fully accessible
• We haven't yet tested the website by hand with a screen reader. A VoiceOver test on macOS and iOS, through to the checkout, is planned

SquareWave Studio assessed the accessibility of this website through:

• Self-evaluation using WCAG 2.2 Level AA criteria
• Automated testing of every page template with axe, in light and dark
• Manual keyboard testing of menus, forms and the checkout
