Build reusable bundles of samples and push them to your device in one go
Overview
Section titled “Overview”If you keep loading the same sets of sounds, Sample Packs save you the repetition. A pack is a named bundle of samples that lives on your computer. Sample Packs is a top-level tool in the sidebar (under Library), so it’s no longer tucked inside the File Manager. Build a pack once, then send it to whichever device you’ve got plugged in. Sample Packs is a Pro feature.
Creating a pack
Section titled “Creating a pack”Create a new pack and give it a name. You can add a description and tags too, which come in handy once you’ve built up a few and want to find one quickly.
Adding samples
Section titled “Adding samples”The quickest way to fill a pack is to import a whole folder in one go. Point it at a folder and it pulls in the files for you, rather than adding them one at a time. Packs accept WAV, AIFF and MP3. Imports are capped at 500 files or 2 GB at a time.
Export and import as a ZIP
Section titled “Export and import as a ZIP”Export as ZIP saves a whole pack, every sample plus a small manifest, to a single .zip file. That’s the shareable unit: send it to a friend or keep it as an off-device backup.
Import from ZIP brings one back. A pack you exported from EP-PatchStudio returns with its sample order, names and root notes intact. A plain ZIP of loose audio works too: it pulls in every audio file it finds and skips the macOS clutter (__MACOSX folders and dotfiles) that usually rides along in a zip.
Send to device
Section titled “Send to device”When you want a pack on the device, use Push to Device. Choose the slot to start from and whether to overwrite what’s already there, and the whole pack loads in one go, with a progress bar so you can see how it’s getting on. It’s the fastest way to get a big set of samples onto your EP without adding them slot by slot.
Managing packs
Section titled “Managing packs”- Rename and edit: change a pack’s name, description or tags at any time.
- Duplicate: copy a pack as a starting point for a variation.
- Tags: tag packs (for example “drums” or “vocal chops”) so you can filter them once a few have piled up.
- Delete: remove a pack you no longer need. This only clears the local pack, not anything on your device.
